About
Health information technology, when done right, has the power to transform the delivery of health care and improve patient outcomes, from the point of care to the community level to the global level. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to enable health care providers to access, manage, and use medical data to inform and optimize patient outcomes at every point along the continuum of care.
Through our seamless, streamlined, and smart Communication Suite, providers can share records of disparate EMRs, improve workflow, and increase efficiencies – all while meeting privacy standards.
Centralis Health, formerly HIE Networks, delivers unparalleled support and service. Our Communication Suite was named a Top 10 Workflow Solution Provider by CIO Applications for its unique ability to provide customers with innovative software solutions, workflow improvements, and the highest compliance security and standards.
Beyond our Communication Suite, we provide expertise in workflow process reengineering, interoperability achievement, data harmonization, and population health management.
The Centralis Health team has been delivering health care technology solutions for over a decade. Behind the technology is a team of bold and passionate individuals who care deeply about our customers' success and are dedicated to creating a better health care experience for everyone.
It takes courage to lead and tenacity to succeed. We are bold and unconstrained by the way things have always been done. We’re deliberate in our drive to continually break down barriers and find a better way to help our customers and communities deliver a better health care experience.
Rapid innovations and advancements in health care mean change. By being nimble as individuals and as an organization, we are flexible, dynamic, and built to adapt and respond quickly to meet changing regulations and the needs of our customers with creative, pragmatic, and effective solutions.
Developing deep connections with our customers, our community, and each other is at the core of who we are. We believe that meaningful and caring connections between people and organizations can build bridges and understanding that will lead to better and stronger outcomes.
Empathy begins with understanding every person’s and organization’s unique challenges and perspectives. We feel and identify with our customers’ needs, putting ourselves in their shoes in order to deliver an experience that exceeds their expectations.
Our History
Our roots began when vascular surgeon Dr. Dan Kaelin and technology entrepreneur Allen Byington started the nonprofit Big Bend Regional Health Information Organization (BBRHIO), a first-of-its-kind health resource and secure patient record-sharing service providing software platforms that connected medical offices and facilities. Under their leadership, BBRHIO quickly became known as the largest and most successful Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) for its delivery of safer, more cost-effective health care.
Together, Byington and Dr. Kealin worked diligently to lay the foundation for successful Health Information Exchange (HIE) participation and implementation within the community. After five years of successfully sharing hundreds of thousands of patient medical records, the organization shifted from nonprofit status and, in 2010, rebranded as HIE Networks, with a goal of expanding the availability of affordable, provider-driven HIEs throughout the U.S.
Over the next decade, the company’s vision and offerings expanded, and in 2021 it became Centralis Health, a name that reflects its philosophy and long history of placing physicians, hospitals, and other providers at the center of everything they do. It remains one of the only original and successful RHIOs uniquely positioned to help communities design and implement an effective and sustainable HIE.
Today, Centralis Health is enabling a world in which all patient health information is immediately and securely available to promote the highest possible health outcomes, providing a better healthcare experience for everyone.
